Kingsley Tennis Club History

Kingsley Tennis Club was established in 1980, with 2 courts on Kingsley Drive near Creaney Primary School. Membership fees were $20 a family and at the end of the first year there were 50 players. This meant a lot of off court activities which helped to establish the friendly, fun loving atmosphere that continues to the present day. Competition tennis commenced in 1982 with the Northern Districts Tennis Association and 3 members of this team are still at the club as at 2022. The Club continued to grow and in October 1987 moved to 4 new courts in the bush at Woodvale with the clubhouse opening in October 1988. The Club affiliated with Tennis West in 1991 and by 1996 12 courts were being used by over 200 junior and senior members. Since then the Club has continued to prosper with many facility and court upgrades provided by the City of Joondalup. It is now a club for everybody, beginner or advanced, social or competitive, catering for all levels of play. In 2020 we celebrated our 40th anniversary in lockdown and we now look forward to the next 40 years of playing tennis at the Kingsley Tennis Club
